It’s 2019, and we’re kicking off the new year with fresh ideas and initiatives here at Potter’s Mill!
First, let’s partake in a southern tradition for good luck. Our special today is Hoppin’ John, a savory dish of blackeyed peas and rice. Traditionally, it’s served with southern greens and corn bread. As the saying goes, Eat poor that day, eat rich the rest of the year. Rice for riches and peas for peace.
Today, New Year’s Day, is also a Tuesday, and we’re launching our Two Percent Tuesdays today! This year, we are supporting Puppy Jake Foundation by donating 2% of proceeds on Tuesdays. Puppy Jake Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to help wounded military veterans with the assistance of well-bred and professionally trained service dogs. Veterans’ injuries may be invisible such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or physical mobility impairments. The Foundation advocates for increased awareness and accessibility for those accompanied by a service dog in everyday situations. For more information, please visit: www.puppyjakefoundation.org
